If you need to distribute vaccines on the trot – or, you’re an urban ice cream man selling on foot – you might want to talk to designer Ian Friday, who was the finalist at the International Design Excellence Awards this year with Moducool.
Originally designed to transport vaccines, it compartmentalises its contents so that not everything is exposed to heat when opened repeatedly, limits the transfer of heat from the body of the wearer to its contents, and does all of this without restricting your movement.
The product is not (yet) in production but I think it has many uses. Imagine if you were going on picnic and wanted to take several courses? Or you needed to equip a team of caterers – literally, in the field? Or you were a motorcycle courier transporting organs or stuff for medical emergencies?
If you want to get one, contact the designer to make arrangements.
