Electric hybrid vehicles are no longer the future. They are now. Perhaps the best part of this trend is the exploration of crossover vehicles.
For instance, the TP Scoot is an electric scooter that you ride like a bike but that you can go up onto sidewalks without alarming other pedestrians and sending them scattering for cover. And, because it’s electric, you don’t arrive all sweaty to work like you might do on a bicycle.
Here’s a video of the TP Scoot in action:
Try as they might to make this thing look really, really ‘cool’… I don’t think they quite pull it off. But that doesn’t really matter. It still is a fun looking device that zips easily around town without making you feel knackered.
Its maximum speed is 20mph and cruising range on a full charge is 20 miles. A full charge takes about 6 hours, so you’ll probably need to plug it in and leave it overnight.
When they say that it’s ‘folding’ this sounds euphemistic. It does disassemble and fit into the boot of a car, for example.
However, given that it weighs close to 45Kg, this is a hefty piece of work and not something you’ll want to do often.
It costs around 1,700 euros.
This video shows you more of the components.
