I like to pack my toiletries, cremes, tonics and liquids into ziploc bags – just in case they explode or break inside my suitcase luggage during transit. Unfortunately, Ziploc bags aren’t very durable and I often end up double-bagging. They tear easily, too, which means I end up going through quite a few of them on each trip.
I found a better solution with the Aloksak waterproof bags. They come in lots of difference sizes. They have leakproof / airtight seals and are certified to be waterproof up to 200 ft (60 metres).
Not only do they make great safety bags for all my packed stuff but they are handy for waterproofing equipment, too. For instance, my camera. I can take it to the beach, or on a boat, or out during a rainstorm… without worrying about it getting wet.
The seal on the top is easy to use but requires both hands to seal properly. A Zipper would probably be more convenient but less reliable as a seal. It can be a tiny but fussy to close properly but, once done, it holds its seal very well.
